GROUPS.

The Breed is comprised not only of loner Others and Gifted as well as normal humans, but groups, power factions who possess superior strength and influence. Safety in numbers, isn’t that what they say? Several therianthrope species band together out of instinct, but vampires too can see the wisdom in combining forces. What follows below is a rundown of each of the power groups in Breed, with (hopefully) all the information you need to get you started.

THE LOCARD PACK.
LEADERS: Rowan Locard (Alpha Male) and Elissa Locard (Alpha Female). Beta Coming Soon.
RACE: Wolf Therianthropes.
TERRITORY: Lakewood.
A group that formed almost by accident, the Locards are a tight-knit band of wolves of varying strains who have a deep-rooted sense of loyalty and devotion to one another, true to their species. Not unlike living boomerangs, Locards come and go; they always seem to return, no matter how long the absence, and the members are always welcomed back into the fold with open arms. With passionate, strong and protective leaders in the form of (married) mates Rowan and Elsa, the Locards never have to worry about their safety when their Alphas are around, and the Pack operates on an open door policy; the members are always welcome in one another’s homes, and they treat one another very much as family, regardless of real ties, or lack thereof. Brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, they have it all. The Locards have been in Denver for many years, and are well known in the Lakewood area, where the Alphas own and operate their own weaponry business. Despite the negative reputation of werewolves thanks to myth and media, the Locards are actually the most peaceful, accepting group in Denver.

THE TOLSTOV CLAN.
LEADERS: Natalya Tolstov (Matriarch).
RACE: Hyena Therianthropes.
TERRITORY: Foxfield.
As spontaneous as they are deadly, the Tolstovs are a group that shouldn’t be taken at face value. They’re conniving, underhanded and murderous at the best of times, each one of them hiding a dark, dirty secret of some sort and confiding in only one or two of the other members of the Clan. They have been in Denver for many years and are the power behind Tolstov & Tolstov, a criminal defence law firm, headed by Natalya herself, the Matriarch who had her own mother murdered in order to inherit leadership. Many of their members hail from Eastern Europe, oddly enough, with the odd Greek thrown in for flavour; those extra languages only make it easier for the Clan to share secrets without being overheard. They might seem like a cackling band of maniacs, but the Tolstovs are vicious and won’t hesitate to unleash all that ferocity, and they don’t necessarily need provocation.

THE ARCHAI COVEN.
LEADERS: Elias Reiter (Leader). Second in Command N/A.
RACE: Vampires.
TERRITORY: Littleton.
A Coven that has factions all over the world, Archai are powerful, wealthy and arrogant to the core. Headed by the entrepreneur Reiter, the real strength behind Reiter & Braun, the Coven are difficult to judge, the lines of loyalty blurring and crossing, never clear or defined. Some hate the leaders, some love them, one or two were sired by them. Archai have a finger in just about every pie imaginable, from education to the stock market, and they aren’t afraid of pulling strings as and when it suits them. This group of vampires may have banded together, but they seem strained at the best of times, and it’s anyone’s guess how long the calm will last. With so many secret agendas and false promises being thrown back and forth, Archai are complex in their own right, but at least they’re quieter about their complications than some of the therianthropes.
